Marcos increases MRT and LRT discount for PWDs, seniors to 50 percent

President Bongbong Marcos has announced that the government has started implementing a 50 percent discount for PWDs and seniors riding MRT-3, LRT1, and LRT2.

The increased discount of 20 percent also benefits students.

Ang dating dalawampung porsyentong diskuwento sa LRT at MRT para sa PWD, sa senior, at sa estudyante, ay itinaas na natin sa limampung porsyento na diskuwento, Marcos said in its State of the Nation Address.

This discount adjustment started on June 20.

The fare discounts are in fulfillment of the president’s directive to ease the financial burden of commuters.

Marcos said the government is also implementing efforts to operate the Dalian trains. These are the set of trains bought in 2014, but were left unused for the past 10 years.
