First announced in July 2024, the CMF Phone 1 is still highly competitive for the price, especially after its newest price cut.

In celebration of SM Malls' 40th year, Digital Walker announced that the CMF Phone 1 now starts at just   PHP 10,490 (from PHP 15,490) for the 8GB/128GB version and PHP 12,490 (from PHP 17,490) for the 8GB/256GB edition.

That's a massive PHP 5,000 discount.

Here's why we think that the CMF Phone 1 is still amazing for the price in 2025

1. It has a fun, customizable design - The CMF Phone 1 is still the only "moddable" smartphone in its class. With aftermarket accessories, users can replace their back cover in Orange, Blue, Sky Blue, Black, and many more colors.

Moreover, it has parts where the user lanyards, card covers, or phone stands in different colors depending on the liking of individual.

On my end, I like it best with the attachable stand and magnetic card cover.

According to the company, this design is designed to make repairability and customization easier. The camera is also covered with a metal frame, while the precisely positioned steel crews can reinforce vital areas to make the device more durable.

2. The specs are solid, especially for the sale price - First, the CMF Phone 1 is equipped with a pretty good display.

In particular, it highlights a 6.67-inch 8-bit Super AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 960Hz PWM dimming, HDR10+, FHD+ 2412 x 1080 resolution at 394 ppi. These display numbers are impressive at this price point.

Second, the processor is not bad. It uses the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 octa-core processor with Mali-G615 MC2 graphics. This is a capable chip for the price, which can run most of the social media and content creation tasks with ease.

Moreover, it has a fairly large 5,000mAh battery capacity with USB-C 33W fast charging.

3. For a budget mid-ranger, it has decent cameras - The handset uses a capable 50MP f/1.8 main shooter with PDAF focus and a Portrait sensor.

In front, it has a 16MP f/2.0 snapper that captures decent selfies.

With NothingOS

4. NothingOS is clean - This is the most affordable smartphone today with the NothingOS.

Originally arrived with Android 14 with NothingOS 2.6 skin out of the box, Nothing confirmed that this phone has now started receiving the Android 15 OS with NothingOS 3.0 major upgrade.

This OS has minimal bloatware and smooth performance, a monochromatic theme with custom widgets, plenty of customization options, and an overall futuristic appeal.
