Maya is PH's best virtual bank for 3rd straight year

Maya, the all-in-one money platform for digital payment and digital banking, has bagged anew the Best Virtual Bank honor at the Asian Banking & Finance’s Retail Banking Awards 2025.

This fresh recognition marks the third consecutive time that Maya secured this status.

Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group president and Maya Bank co-founder, said the company’s platform "makes managing finances simple, smart and accessible for both consumers and enterprises."

Baidwan also stressed that digital banks can trigger "real impact at scale," especially for underserved and unserved areas.

Maya's integrated ecosystem combines Maya Bank's digital banking with Maya Philippines’ digital payments network. Its platform uses real-time activity across users and merchants to deliver smarter credit decisions, stronger fraud protection, and personalized financial products.

The firm realized a strong first-quarter performance, with deposits soaring by 49 percent to PHP 44 billion. Loan disbursements likewise tripled to PHP 28 billion.

Its customer base also recorded a significant growth of 88 percent to 6.8 million.
