OPPO flaunts the Reno14 Series 5G's fashion forward design and tough build

OPPO recently, introduced its latest mid-range contenders Reno14 Series 5G featuring fashion-ready design and sturdy build quality.

Stylish appearance and durable body

To recall, the OPPO Reno14 Series 5G uses a design inspired by the "Mermaidcore" trend from the fashion industry. The new lineup radiates with shimmering, iridescent aesthetics and features advanced engineering to create a distinctive smartphone appearance.

Reno14 Pro 5G back design

According to OPPO, the said "Iridescent Mermaid Design," mimics the shifting colors of a mermaid's scales. This effect is achieved using OPPO's Iridescent Glow Process, involving 12 stacked layers—double the number used in previous models. Each layer is precisely polished to create a microscopic texture (as narrow as 20 microns) that produces a dynamic color shift when viewed from different angles.

Additionally, the Gradient Aura Design on the camera module softens its visual presence, creating a seamless transition between the back panel and the lenses. These design elements are available on the Opal White (Reno14 5G and Pro 5G) and Opal Blue (Reno14 F 5G) color options.

Furthermore, the Reno14 and Reno14 Pro 5G feature a one-piece sculpted glass back, crafted through a 65-step process that takes twice as long as conventional methods. A single piece of glass is precision-machined to form both the back cover and integrated camera housing, reinforced with an aerospace-grade aluminum frame.

The devices also carry triple IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, making them resistant to water, dust, and high-pressure jets. This durability also enables underwater photography, allowing users to capture 4K videos without an additional waterproof case.

OPPO's new Velvet Glass finish provides a soft, fabric-like texture, achieved by etching over 10 million micro-crystals (each around 15 micrometers in size) onto the surface. The company spent over 100 days refining the chemical polishing process to achieve this fingerprint-resistant, skin-friendly texture, available on the Opal White models.

The highlight model Reno14 Pro 5G sports 6.83-inch Flexible AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate, 2800 x 1272 resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

Inside, it uses 3.35GHz 4nm MTK Dimensity 8450 8-core chip with Mali-G720 MP7 GPU, 12GB LPDDR5X, 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, and large 6,200mAh battery with USB-C 80W SUPERVOOC and 50W AIRVOOC.

For cameras, the phone uses 50MP f/1.8 main shooter with AF and OIS + 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide + 50MP f/2.8 3.5x telephoto OIS sensor.
