Sony has officially dropped the RX1R III in the Philippines. On paper, the camera is shaping up to be a game-changer for compact camera fans.

The premium compact camera highlights a 61MP full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor—yes, the same one found in Sony's top-tier mirrorless lineup.

It is paired with the BIONZ XR image processor and a fixed ZEISS Sonnar T* 35mm f/2.0 lens, making it great for creators in need of "pro-level image quality" without the bulk.

Moreover, the camera has AI-powered Real-time Recognition Autofocus, which can track everything from faces and pets to vehicles with impressive accuracy.

Sony also introduced the Step Crop Shooting, letting users switch between 35mm, 50mm, and 70mm equivalent focal lengths on the fly—adding versatility to a fixed-lens body. There is also a macro mode, allowing close-ups from just 20 cm away.

The Japanese tech giant also added 12 Creative Looks for instant style tweaks, a sharp 2.36M-dot OLED EVF, USB-C fast charging, and a lightweight magnesium alloy build.

Sony RX1R III - PHP 279,999

The new Sony RX1R III is priced at PHP 279,999 in the Philippines.

From August 29 to October 17, early adopters will get a SF-G64T SD Card (64GB) worth PHP 10,500.

To pre-order, the buyer need to out a PHP 5,000 downpayment at participating Sony Centers and select Sony Authorized Dealers nationwide. 

Customers will also enjoy special discounts on select accessories through Sony's Purchase-with-Purchase Program, including offers on battery packs and multifunction grips.

Claiming will start on October 17, 2025. Full payment will be required by November 17, 2025.
