Apple Watch SE 3 priced in PH: 40mm and 44mm sizes + S10 chip + up to 32 hours battery, PHP 15,990

Apart from the iPhone 17 Series, Apple also announced the Apple Watch SE 3.

Updated entry-level Apple Watch

This will be the brand's newest entry-level smartwatch and a major refresh over the previous model, which was announced back in 2022. 

The Apple Watch SE 3 is made of recycled aluminum in two sizes—40 mm and 44mm. The cover glass is protected by Apple’s own Ion-X (ion-exchanged strengthened) glass, which the company claims to be the toughest glass available in a smartwatch.

Apple did not mention the size of the display, but the 40mm model has a 394 x 324 resolution, while the 44mm model has a 448 x 368 resolution.

The smaller variant obviously has a lighter weight at 26.4 grams and can fit wrists of 130-200mm. The bigger case model has a 33-gram weight and will fit on a larger wrist with a circumference of 140 to 245mm.

The strap selection

Thanks to its powerful S10 chip, the smartwatch now includes an Always-On display, double-tap and wrist flick gestures, on-device Siri, 5G connectivity, and fast charging. Additionally, the watch also has 64GB of storage.

The watch incorporates a second-generation optical heart sensor, a temperature sensor, and a compass. New health-related features include sleep score, wrist temperature sensing, retrospective ovulation estimates, and sleep apnea notifications.

The features

Apple also noted the new feature called the "Workout Buddy," which utilizes Apple Intelligence and brings personalized spoken motivation. The company added that it uses metrics such as heart rate, pace, and distance. This feature requires a nearby iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence and a pair of Bluetooth headphones.

Meanwhile, Apple states its battery only lasts for up to 18 hours under normal use and up to 32 hours for Low Power Mode.

Safety features previously available on higher-end models, such as Fall Detection, Crash Detection, and Emergency SOS, are now included. 

Connectivity-wise, it has WiFi 4, 5G, LTE, L1 GPS, GNSS, Galileo, QZSS, and Bluetooth 5.3.

For software, it runs on watcOS 26 out of the box.
