HONOR X9d with 8,300mAh battery confirmed to launch on September 24

HONOR is set to launch the successor to its ultra-durable popular mid-range X9 Series with big battery upgrades.

Tougher and longer-lasting battery

HONOR just revealed the launch event for its upcoming HONOR X9d smartphone. The device is scheduled to be unveiled on Wednesday, September 24, in Malaysia at 3:00 PM local time (7:00 AM UTC). 

The company has released promotional images and some key features prior to the official launch.

The HONOR X9d features a design similar to the HONOR X70, which launched in China back in July. 

Mirroring its predecessor, the X9d is rated with IP69K resistance for protection against dust and water.

It also receives a significant battery upgrade, moving to an 8,300mAh Silicon-carbon (Si/C) unit from the 6,600mAh battery in the previous model. Honor is also promoting improved durability, citing a shock-absorbing frame like the one used on the X70.

The shared images confirm the availability of the same Reddish Brown color option, in addition to a new Sunlight Gold variant. 

The visuals also indicate the device will be equipped with a 108MP primary camera featuring optical image stabilization (OIS) just like the X9c.
