The phone introduces a new flagship design philosophy described as a "Dune Aesthetic," which the company states offers a natural and distinctive appearance.

It is available in three color options such as Purple, Sand Dune, and Black. Additionally, the device is rated for IP66/68/69/69K dust and water resistance.

The front of the device features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with up to 165Hz adaptive refresh rate.

OnePlus states the phone incorporates a world-first third-generation Oriental screen, leading the industry's next-generation screen experience. It is also described as the world's first 165Hz high-resolution screen that supports applications like WeChat, QQ, Xiaohongshu, and Weibo at a high refresh rate.

The display has received DisplayMate A++ ratings, utilizing customized X3 luminescent materials and a P3 screen chipset.

OnePlus says it is built on China's only in-house developed display science production line, with core specifications exceeding DisplayMate A++ standards.

The device also features what is claimed to be an Android first: a "True Hardware 1nit Dark Night Display" for low-light viewing, industry-low flicker performance with an SVM of less than 0.12, hardware-level low blue light, and is the world's first to receive the "Little Gold Label" eye protection certification.

It also implements Android's first "Touch Display Sync" technology, which OnePlus claims improves aiming accuracy by 77 percent, reduces zeroing error by 60 percent, and decreases gyro latency by 11 percent.

Processor and memory

The OnePlus 15 is powered by the 4.6GHz 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of memory.

Its new Glacier Cooling System uses an industry-first ultra-thin "hand-tearable steel" material, which is said to increase vapor liquid cooling space by 43 percent and capillary water absorption by 100 percent. The system also incorporates an aerospace-grade "supercritical aerogel," with insulation material derived from the same source as space rocket engines, to keep the device cooler.

The phone uses an industry-first G2 gaming network chip, with upgraded WiFi and cellular capabilities reportedly reducing network latency by up to 65.85 percent, accelerating game updates by 71.3 percent, and speeding video transmission by 42 percent in congested networks.

OnePlus also uses a massive 7,300mAh Glacier Battery. OnePlus states it is the only flagship phone this year that has a 120W Super Flash Charge combined with a 50W Wireless Flash Charge.

Camera

The camera system utilizes OPPO's LUMO Condensed Light Imaging technology.

It features a 50MP f/1.8 1/1.56-inch Sony main sensor with OIS and employs OPPO's flagship imaging algorithms for clearer scenes and more natural-looking people.

The rear setup also includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens that doubles as an 85mm portrait lens.

Video capabilities include 4K 120fps Dolby Vision recording, with additional features such as ultra-high-definition portraits, ultra-clear Live Photos, and AI portrait fill light.

Other features

It is equipped with a high-performance X-axis vibration motor, symmetrical dual stereo speakers, support for the N79 high-frequency dedicated band, and USB 3.2 Gen1 high-speed data transfer.

Connectivity options support WiFi 7,  5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM.

The phone runs on Android 16 with ColorOS 16.

  1. The Dune Aesthetic design plus all that display innovation is giving serious flagship vibes. OnePlus really went all-in on fluidity and brightness here. The 1.5K 165Hz refresh rate combined with ultra-low latency sounds like a dream setup for fast reflex games — Tunnel Rush players are going to love how smooth it feels zooming through those tunnels!
