As a result, the device is a HIT in China immediately. In fact, Xiaomi president Lu Weibing confirmed on Weibo that the new Xiaomi 17 Series has exceeded the 1 million units sold, faster than the previous generation.
They did this in just one (1) week.
He also added that because of this early success, the company is stepping up production and increasing stock.
To recap, leading the pack of the Xiaomi 17 Series are the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, both featuring a unique rear AMOLED display for selfies, notifications, and even virtual pets.
These devices are also packed with bleeding-edge specs featuring 12-bit OLED panels with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz variable refresh rate, and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness.
Under the hood, they’re powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. Battery life gets a serious boost too, with 6,300mAh on the Pro and a massive 7,500mAh on the Pro Max, both supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge.
Of course, the devices also have a Leica-powered triple 50MP camera setup. It includes a Light Fusion 950L main sensor, ultra-wide with macro, and a 5x periscope telephoto with telemacro capabilities.
Meanwhile, the vanilla Xiaomi 17 is closer to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15. The device sports a compact 6.3-inch 12-bit OLED screen with ultra-thin bezels, 1.5K resolution, and peak brightness of 3,500 nits, protected by Dragon Crystal Glass
It is also powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, a 7,000mAh battery, and advanced cooling. The device also has a triple 50MP rear camera setup and a 50MP front camera.
All phones feature an IP66/68/69 water and dust resistance, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
