After worldwide hype, Xiaomi finally reveals its revolutionary flagship devices in the form of Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max w/ back displays.

Better than the iPhone 17 Pro Max?
As their main spotlight, these phones pack a secondary Dynamic Back display. It has various use cases, such as providing real-time notifications like flights, ticket updates, deliveries, ride hailing, music, and more.
It can let users access instant QR codes for payments, emojis, or, more importantly, shoot selfies using the main camera for better quality.
Furthermore, it has customizable watch faces, AI wallpapers, virtual pets, and dynamic, detailed information.

Anyway, the Pro edition has a 2.7-inch back AMOLED while the 17 Pro Max has a slightly bigger 2.9-inch. Both also have a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits peak brightness.
Now for the main display, the 17 Pro has a 6.3-inch 12-bit OLED with 1.5K 2656 x 1220 resolution, 1-120Hz VRR, 3500 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and Xiaomi Shield Glass.

The Pro Max model has a bigger 6.9-inch display and similar details, but gets a stronger Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0.
Inside, these devices pack the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with Adreno GPU, 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.1 storage.
For battery, the Pro model has a 6,300mAh battery while the ProMax has a 7,500mAh battery. Both use 100W HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge.

For the imaging system, the two phones sport a 50MP f/1.67 rear camera with a 1/1.31" Light Fusion 950L sensor, Hyper OIS, and a Leica Summilux lens for the main sensor.
The secondary unit is a 50MP f/2.4 102-degree Leica ultra-wide angle lens with 5cm macro + 50MP f/3.0 5x Infinity Leica periscope telephoto camera, 20cm telemacro (17 Pro) or 50MP f/2.6 5x Leica periscope telephoto camera, 30cm telemacro (17 Pro Max), OIS, 8K video recording.
For selfies, both have a 50MP shooter with f/2.2, 4K 60 fps recording.
Other features noted are stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and 4 4-microphone array.
Connectivity features are WiFi 7, 5G, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, UWB, Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, NavIC, NFC, and dual SIM.
For OS, the devices run on HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16 out of the box.
