The wait is over. Google Wallet officially launches in the Philippines, aiming to bring a safer, simpler, and more seamless way to pay and manage digital essentials.
Google Wallet arrives in PH

Google Wallet is now official in the Philippines

Basically, Google Wallet keeps your essentials accessible and protected—no physical wallet needed—whether you're shopping, traveling, or attending events.

Starting today, Android users can download the app from the Play Store and begin adding their payment cards, boarding passes, loyalty cards, vouchers, and even digital car keys—all in one secure space.

Google also claims that its Security is top-notch, with tokenized transactions, dynamic security codes, and Find My Device protection.

Cardholders from participating banks can now add their payment cards to Google Wallet and use them for contactless payments via Android phones or Wear OS devices. These cards also work for online and in-app purchases at supported merchants.

These partners are working today:

  • Visa and Mastercard Cardholders of ChinaBank, EastWest Bank, RCBC Bank, and Zed will be able to add their cards to Google Wallet.
  • VISA cardholders of GoTyme, Maya, UnionBank, and Wise will be able to add their cards to Google Wallet.
  • Mastercard cardholders of GCash and Zed will be able to add their cards to Google Wallet.

Google Wallet supports tap-to-pay via Google Pay, online checkout, and transit payments at MRT-3 and modern jeepneys in Cebu and Mandaue.

Travellers can also add different information to Google Wallet like boarding passes from Philippines Airlines, and AirAsia, Cathay Pacific, Jetstar, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Thai Airways; flight bookings from Trip.com; event tickets booked through Ticket2me and Ticketnet; IKEA loyalty cards and Mang Inasal vouchers.

It also works with merchants like Shopee, IKEA, Sephora (soon), and with top PSPs like PesoPay, Payermax, and Maya.

Expect it to be available on more systems in the country soon.
