Mighty gaming beast

Just like its sibling, the gaming laptop is available in Black only. But its aesthetics are enhanced by the Aura Sync Light Bar and Aura Sync logo. Furthermore, it has the AniMe Matrix LED lights to further highlight its gamer appearance.

For its display, the Strix SCAR 16 uses a ROG Nebula HDR display featuring a 16-inch Mini-LED panel with anti-glare coating, 2.5K 2560 x 1600 resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 100 percent color gamut, 3ms response time, Dolby Vision HDR, and 16:10 aspect ratio.

The display

Inside, it uses the 5.4GHz Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor with 24 cores, 24 threads, 36MB cache, and AI Boost NPU (13TOPS).

The chip is paired with an RTX 5080 laptop GPU with 16GB GDDR7 and up to 175W power draw.

It also has up to 32GB DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM RAM and 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD.

Furthermore, it has 2x DDR5 SO-DIMM and 2x M.2 PCIe expansion slots for future upgrades.

The system uses an end-to-end vapor chamber, a sandwiched heatsink, Tri-Fan technology, and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal to cool both the CPU and GPU. In addition, the fans operate at a lower noise level compared to the previous model.

Meanwhile, it has a 90WHr 4S1P 4-cell Li-ion battery, which is charged using a 380W AC power adapter.

The laptop also features a 1080p IR camera for Windows Hello, and features a quad speaker system with Smart Amplifier Technology, a built-in array microphone with AI noise-cancelling technology, Hi-Res certification for headphones, and Dolby Atmos support.

For ports, 1x 3.5 audio combo audio jack, 1x HDMI 2.1 FRL, 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 2x Thunderbolt 5 support for DP, PD, G-SYNC, and 1x 2.5G LAN port.
