A fierce HUAWEI tri-fold rival?

For the very first time, the South Korean company has officially put on display its upcoming tri-fold Galaxy smartphone. Yes, there is already an actual device in an enclosed, clear box that appeared at the K-Tech Showcase before the APEC 2025 Summit.

Unfortunately, since the phone is not yet official, the media present at the event were not able to get an actual hold of it.

According to reports, Samsung is preparing to release an actual retail unit of this "Galaxy tri-fold" phone this year.

It is said to have the ability to be folded on both sides. Its regular phone mode is at 6.5 inches. The maximum size when fully unfolded is 10 inches with an aspect ratio close to a "small tablet PC," which could be a very good tablet replacement or alternative.

Samsung has yet to release the rest of its specs. But expect it to have a complex hinge system to make the tri-fold design possible and top-end overall smartphone features.

Samsung initially planned to manufacture 50,000 to 100,000 units of the foldable, but it might not be released globally. It might only be limited to China and South Korea.

The estimated price is in the late 3 million won (KRW) or over PHP 123~160K out of straight conversion.
