AI, elections, quakes top Google’s 2025 trending PH searches

Tech giant Google released its Year in Search 2025, highlighting the topics and even personalities that drew the interest of Filipino netizens.

Trending PH searches

First on the list is Gemini AI, an artificial intelligence (AI) tool of Google, which showed Filipinos' growing reliance on AI.

Many still wanted to be updated on current events, with the midterm elections (Halalan 2025) and earthquake topics clinching the second and fourth spots, respectively.

In-game variant "Grow a Garden" likewise made it to the top four, thanks to its popularity among the Filipino youth.

The Korean thriller series on Netflix, Squid Game, also made strong waves online, making it the 6th most talked-about topic.
