What is GrabCar Group Ride?
To recap, Grab Group Rides allows a host to share a link with up to three passengers, enabling them to input their individual pick-up or drop-off points as they depart or arrive together in a singular GrabCar.
According to the company, its mapping algorithms then generate the most efficient route to connect all locations.
Through the consolidation of multi-stop routes, the feature unlocks greater productivity for drivers, allowing a lean fleet to serve more passengers despite heavy holiday congestion.
We tried it recently and found it effective as well as more affordable than booking two separate rides, especially if you’re not in a hurry.
Here's how to use it.
How to use GrabCar Group Ride this Christmas season?
- Open the Grab app
- Select "Car"
- Select "Group ride."
- Choose "Arrive together" or "Depart together."
- Add group destination
- Select "Invite Friends"
- Send an invite to your friend
- Add a pickup point, press join
- Press "ready to go"
- Then book "car"
