Qualcomm outs Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, a new chip for budget phones with 5G

Qualcomm just launched the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, a chip designed to power upcoming affordable budget phones.

The chip is built under the 4nm manufacturing process for better battery efficiency, featuring a 64-bit Qualcomm Kryo CPU with up to 2.3GHz paired with an Adreno GPU. This also supports up to LPDDR5 RAM (memory) and Qualcomm Spectra ISP for cameras (up to 108MP) with AI-enhanced low light brightening up photos for improved clarity, and hardware-based Multi Frame Noise Reduction (MFNR) provides higher quality snapshots.

For connectivity, it connects via WiFi 5. But, it supports the Qualcomm 5G Modem-RF System, which allows download speeds up to 2.5 Gbps. It also has Bluetooth 5.1 with/ aptX and support for the BeiDou satellite system.

According to the company, it also has support for the Quick Charge 4+ technology that can fill the battery of the phone that will use the chip to half in just 15 minutes.
