Sony A7 V redefines Hybrid Full-Frame!

According to the brand, the latest camera is designed for professional photographers, videographers, and content creators.

Building on the success of its predecessors, the A7V introduces a 33MP full-frame back-illuminated Exmor RS CMOS sensor paired with the new BIONZ XR2 image processor, which can deliver exceptional low-light performance and dynamic range.

Inside the A7V is Sony's next-generation AI processing unit, which powers real-time subject recognition for humans, animals, and birds. It also includes human pose estimation, face memory, selectable eye/head/body tracking for animals, and birds. Additionally, the focus can also track airplanes, cars, trains, and even insects.

Sony claims its AF/AE system is capable of calculation reaching 60x per second for precise and responsive tracking, even on a 30 fps high-speed burst. There's also a Pre-Capture feature enabling users to buffer frames before entirely pressing the shutter key. Additionally, it has a recording time of 0.03 to 1.0 seconds at around 30 fps, together with full AF/AE tracking.

The company also added the new Continuous Shoot Speed Boost function, which lets users capture decisive moments by enhancing burst performance depending on the subject's movement.

For video mode, it has 4K 120p (with crop) and 4K at 60fps (uncropped) recording options, supporting advanced codecs like 10-bit 4:2:2 for professional color grading.

The camera's active stabilization has been upgraded to a 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system, offering up to 7.5 stops of shake compensation.

Sony also added a 3.2-inch fully articulating touchscreen LCD, now with 2.1 million dots, that pairs seamlessly with the 9.44-million-dot OLED EVF for intuitive composition.

Battery life has also been boosted to 530 shots per charge (CIPA standard), a boon for creators on multi-day shoots across the archipelago.
