Partnership on security-focused applications

In a statement, the telco giant said its partnership with Nokia involves the rollout of network application programming interfaces (APIs) across its partner and developer ecosystem.

Currently, Globe has more than 50 million customers.

Under the deal, Globe would have access to the full portfolio of APIs available through Nokia’s Network Exposure Platform (NEP). The cloud-native, programmable infrastructure streamlines service delivery and improves interoperability across different network environments.

With this partnership, Shkumbin Hamiti, Nokia's head of Network Monetization Platform, said Globe clients could "experience a richer ecosystem of digital services, personalized applications and improved connectivity."

KD Dizon, vice president and head of Globe Business, said boosting the group’s capability would protect its enterprise customers from the rising cyberattacks.

We are now at the stage of testing how Nokia’s NEP can support our customers in the banking and enterprise sectors with security verification tools to prevent fraudulent transactions. Working together to advance network APIs, we can foster economic growth, support local innovation and enhance connectivity for a more digitally inclusive society, Dizon said.
