Support for families directly affected by the US-Iran war
Maya is extending its support to Filipino families who rely on remittances from their loved ones in the Middle East.
Running until April 10, Maya users who receive remittances from selected Middle East countries—including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Lebanon, and Jordan—can unlock a set of transaction rebates designed to help them access and use their funds more easily.
With many overseas Filipinos in the Middle East supporting their families back home, we aim to make it easier for households to access and make the most of these remittances by reducing everyday transaction costs, said Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group President and Maya Bank Co-Founder.
Maya said its initiative focuses on reducing everyday financial costs that remittance-receiving families often incur when accessing or distributing funds sent from abroad.
Eligible Maya users who activate Maya XP will receive the following rebates:
- ATM withdrawals: ATM withdrawal rebates, PHP 18 credited back per transaction
- InstaPay transfers: InstaPay bank transfer rebates, PHP 15 credited back per transaction.
Eligible users may also enjoy cashback on mobile load purchases, ranging from 1 percent to 3 percent depending on their Maya XP level.
Users become eligible when they receive remittances into their Maya account from the following Middle East countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Lebanon, and Jordan.
After receiving a qualifying remittance, eligible users will receive an invitation to activate Maya XP, which can be done directly within the Maya app. Head to the Maya XP section in the Wallet Dashboard or Profile page and complete the quick "Get started" process, including providing the required consent.
Rebates are automatically applied when users complete eligible ATM withdrawals or InstaPay transfers. The corresponding cashback is credited to the user’s Maya wallet on the same day the transaction is made.
