Bigger Grab experience in Southeast Asian countries
Ride-hailing and Superapp firm Grab announced a range of new features aimed at streamlining cross-border travel and equipping small business owners with AI-powered tools across Southeast Asia.
Travel Features
The company is broadening its travel capabilities with a suite of services designed to support users throughout their journey.
Among the highlights is GrabStays, a hotel booking service developed in partnership with Nuitee, an AI-focused hotel technology company. The service targets same-day and last-minute bookings, with rates described as competitive.
So if ever you have last-minute decisions and are in need of quick hotel accommodation. This feature will give you an instant place to stay for your travel.

Meanwhile, there's the Personalised Travel Experience, which consolidates airport-related information within the app, including passport reminders, check-in counter details, departure gate updates, and flight change alerts. The feature also includes a travel checklist for items such as eSIMs and travel passes. Upon arrival, it offers indoor navigation to guide users to baggage belts and pickup points.
Users earn GrabCoin rewards on bookings, and existing payment details are pre-filled to simplify checkout.
A feature called Discover by Grab surfaces community-generated food and dining content, personalised through AI based on user preferences. From within the same interface, users can order delivery, make restaurant reservations, access dining deals, or arrange transport to a venue.
GrabPay for Travel allows users to scan national QR codes across participating Southeast Asian markets and pay using home-issued debit or credit cards already stored in the app, without requiring additional e-wallets or currency conversions.
Business Tools
Grab also announced a set of tools targeting merchant and driver partners. Virtual Store Manager uses existing CCTV infrastructure and AI-powered computer vision to monitor store operations, including hygiene standards, staffing levels, queue lengths, and foot traffic. The system sends real-time alerts to business owners and provides analytics intended for multi-outlet operators.

| Cloud Printer |
A Cloud Printer integration automatically prints orders in the kitchen upon receipt. Kitchen staff can scan a QR code on the printed ticket to signal when an order is ready for pickup. The printer can also automatically pause a store's listing on the Grab app when no activity is detected for a set period, preventing orders from being sent to closed locations.

| Tap to Pay feature |
Tap to Pay enables merchants to accept contactless card and QR payments directly through the GrabMerchant app on their smartphones, without requiring additional hardware or a lengthy setup process.
A Driver AI Assistant allows driver partners to ask questions about company policies and complete common tasks — such as messaging passengers — via voice, intended to minimise distraction while on the road.
Early Access Programme
Grab's Early Access Programme, launched at the previous GrabX event, has reached 200,000 users. The programme enables users to test new features and submit feedback ahead of public release. The company said participants have contributed approximately 4,000 feature improvements to date.
A new "shake and share" mechanism allows users to submit feedback by shaking their device. Registration is available through the GrabX website.
Further details on Grab's product announcements are available on the company's corporate blog, Inside Grab.
