realme Neo8 launched: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 8,000mAh battery, PC Handheld Mode

Following the teaser, the realme Neo8 is now official in China.

The device brings powerful performance at a more affordable price point.

In terms of design, the phone features a transparent RGB back panel with customizable lighting effects and a metal frame. It is available in Silver, Purple, and Black colorways and features triple IP protection of IP66/68/69 dust and water resistance.

The features

In front, the phone uses a 6.78-inch Samsung M14 LTPS OLED screen with 1.5K 2772 x 1272 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, 3800Hz instant touch sampling rate, 100 percent DCI P3 color gamut, 6,500 nits peak brightness, and Crystal Armor Glass.

Inside, it is packed with a 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC with Adreno GPU capable of reaching 3.58M AnTuTu benchmark score. It is paired with 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM with 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.1 storage option.

The company emphasizes a strong gaming focus, supported by a high-airflow cooling system and a new GT Performance Engine, confirming native 165Hz gameplay for over 30 popular titles.

Massive battery

The battery and charging system include a large 8,000mAh capacity with USB-C 80W SUPERVOOC and bypass charging support.

The camera department holds the 50MP Sony IMX896, OIS main camera + 8MP ultra-wide + 50MP JN5 3.5x periscope shooter. Selfies are handled by the 16MP front camera.

Other features mentioned are stereo speakers, Hi-Res audio certifications, 3D Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Connectivity features are WiFi 7, 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM.

For OS, the phone runs Android 16 with realme UI 7.0 skin on top.

Finally, the device includes a PC Handheld Mode, enabling users to play verified PC games locally. With cross-platform support for up to 50 officially licensed titles, this feature allows seamless PC account logins and cloud-save synchronization.
