Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank has 6mm thickness and 5,000mAh capacity

Xiaomi has introduced the UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank, a portable accessory designed for space saving.

Pocketable powerbank?

The new power bank features a thickness of 6 mm and a weight of 98 g making it one of the slimmest yet in the market. This could be beneficial for use cases such as needing a power bank on your pocket or one that can fit on your ultra-light bag.

The accessory attaches magnetically to compatible smartphones and provides wireless charging. 

According to Xiaomi, it offers up to 15W wireless charging when used with Xiaomi 17 devices, while charging for iPhones is capped at 7.5W. 

For higher charging speeds, the device includes a USB-C port capable of up to 22.5W wired output. It also supports charging two devices simultaneously via both wireless and wired connections.

Magnetic and wired charging

Inside, the power bank is equipped with a 5,000mAh high-density silicon-carbon battery. Xiaomi states this capacity can approximately recharge an iPhone once, depending on the phone model and usage. 

The silicon-carbon battery technology is made to provide greater energy density while maintaining a thin form factor. 

Meanwhile, heat dissipation is managed with a 4,369 mm² graphite sheet. It's battery level is displayed through four LED indicators, and a physical button allows manual control of charging.

The exterior features an aluminum alloy shell with a metallic finish, while the side that contacts the phone is made from fire-resistant fiberglass. 

Xiaomi reports the power bank includes ten safety protections, covering overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, overheating, overcharging, over-discharging, and foreign object detection. 

Two NTC temperature sensors monitor heat levels in real time and can adjust charging to help manage temperature.

It is being sold through Amazon Japan and Xiaomi’s official store. There has been no official announcement regarding availability in other markets.
