To recap, OPPO has teased the new Reno15 5G series and will arrive on February 13, its latest line of mid-range smartphones that comes with a premium design and build while offering content creation-focused features.

In particular, the new OPPO Reno15 5G features a 120Hz 6.59-inch AMOLED screen, a 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 octa-core processor, an Adreno 722 GPU, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and a 6,500mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging via USB-C.

It is IP66 + IP68 + IP69 dust and water-resistant. On the front is a 50MP f/2.0 selfie camera, while on the back is the 50MP f/1.8 main camera, a 50MP f/2.8 telephoto camera, and an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle camera with an LED flash.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 LE, NFC, 4G, and 5G.

In the Philippines, the price has yet to be revealed. If priced competitively, it could be a pretty and capable option for those in the market for a smartphone that prioritizes content creation.

We expect it to be priced around the price of the previous generation Reno14 5G, which was priced at PHP 31,999.

Let's take a look at it.

Unboxing/Accessories

Unfortunately, like almost every new smartphone today, the box does not include earphones.

Build Quality/Design

At first glance, the phone caught our eye because of how refined and premium the fit and finish on the Reno15 5G. Its build looks like a flagship that came out a few years ago. It measures 158 x 74.83 x 7,77 mm and weighs 197 grams.

The frame is Aerospace grade Aluminum with a brushed texture. It is sandwiched between a front glass and rear frosted glass panels. OPPO proudly advertises that the Reno15 5G comes with a One-piece Sculpted Glass. This means that it only uses one piece, which gives it a seamless and continuous look.

Premium, slim, and flagship-looking

It is IP66 + IP68 + IP69 dust and water resistance rated, meaning that the product is resistant to most immersion for a limited time. The IP69 rating means it can be immersed in hot water of up to 80 degrees Celsius at a depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes.

Both the front and rear glass panels are Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protected

Around the panel are the symmetrical ultra-thin bezels.

Like its other smartphones, the speaker volume can be pushed up to 300 percent.

Quick thoughts

Depending on pricing, this could be a strong mid-range option for creators.

So far, I am pleased but unsurprised—the Reno15 5G continues the lineup's steady upgrades in build, design, and software. What stood out immediately, though, were its impressive selfie camera, AI-enchanced content creation capabilities, and premium build quality.

Wrapped in aluminum and glass, it combines durability with style, offering IP66/68/69 protection and a bright, crisp screen with thin bezels.

At the back are the 50MP main rear camera, 50MP telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera, while in front is the 100-degree 50MP selfie camera—most can deliver promising results so far.

While its Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 might not be the best chip for the price, it balances performance and efficiency. It is also paired with ample 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a large 6,500mAh battery with fast 80W charging for all-day shooting, browsing, and editing.

We will be posting a separate article for the full review that includes more photos with the smartphone soon.

Stay tuned.
