The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome, a black-and-white-only premium compact camera, is finally arriving in the Philippines.

Back in September 2025, we reported on the arrival and pre-order availability of the original Ricoh GR IV. The GR IV is a premium compact camera with a 25.7MP APS-C BSI CMOS sensor, a 28mm equivalent lens, a 2-stop ND filter, and a 5-axis 6-stop IBIS. It is made with a magnesium alloy built to make it more durable and slimmer.

The GRIV Monochrome is nearly identical, but with several key differences. It effectively builds on the foundation of the Ricoh GR IV but caters to photographers seeking unparalleled black-and-white image quality with enhanced sharpness and tonal gradation.

It retains the GR IV's rear 3.0-inch touch screen LCD, the DB-120 Li-ion battery (rated for 250 shots), the 53GB internal storage, the hybrid phase-detect and contrast-detect autofocus, and the 18.3mm (or 28mm equivalent) f/2.8-16 lens.

The camera features a new Matte Black finish but retains the magnesium-alloy body. The LED light around the power button only lights up in white.

It features a 25.7MP Monochrome CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 160 to 409,600, a built-in On/Off Red filter, and an electronic shutter that goes up to 1/16,000 sec. 

It also comes with Monochrome dedicated filters such as Solid, Grainy, Plus Standard, Soft, Hi-Contrast, HDR Tone, and Custom.

Pre-orders for the Ricoh GR IV Monochrome began on January 31 and will end on March 31, 2026. Customers who pre-order get a FREE Backpack worth PHP 5,298. 

Stocks are expected to arrive at the end of February or early March 2026.
