iPad Air (2026) 11" and 13" with M4 chip priced in PH, starts at PHP 42,990

Apart from the iPhone 17e, Apple has unveiled the eighth-generation iPad Air, scheduled for release in 2026.

Apple updates iPad Air with a more powerful chip

The device is offered in four finishes, including blue, purple, starlight, and space gray.

The iPad Air features a Liquid Retina display. The 11-inch model has a resolution of 2360 by 1640, while the 13-inch model has a resolution of 2732 by 2048. Both screens support P3 wide color, True Tone, and 500 nits of brightness. They also include an anti-reflective coating and are fully laminated. The display is compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro and the Apple Pencil with USB-C.

The tablet is equipped with the M4 chip, which includes an 8-core CPU and a 9-core GPU. The GPU supports second-generation ray tracing and mesh shading. 

New UI for easier multitasking

The device has 12GB of RAM and 120GB/s of memory bandwidth. According to Apple, the M4 chip delivers 30 percent faster performance than the M3 and is 2.3 times faster than the M1.

Battery life is rated at up to 10 hours for web browsing or video playback over Wi-Fi and up to 9 hours over a cellular connection. The 11-inch model contains a 28.93 Whr rechargeable lithium-polymer battery, and the 13-inch model contains a 36.59 Whr battery. Both versions also support fast charging with the included 20W USB-C power adapter.

The rear camera is a 12MP sensor capable of recording 4K video at up to 60 frames per second and support to Smart HDR 4 and cinematic stabilization. 

The front-facing camera is a 12MP ultra-wide lens with Center Stage for video calls, extended dynamic range, and Retina Flash.

The iPad Air includes the N1 wireless chip with support for WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread networking. 

Optional cellular models feature the C1X modem for 5G connectivity. The tablet also has Touch ID, Thunderbolt 3, and USB 4 for authentication, file transfers, and external display support.

The device runs on iPadOS 26. The operating system includes a new windowing system for multitasking, a redesigned menu bar, and updates to the Files app. 

Keyboard and pen support

Finally, it also adds audio controls, Background Tasks, and artificial intelligence features such as scene removal from videos and faster search.
