At an event in Barcelona, Xiaomi expanded its global portfolio with the introduction of the Xiaomi 17 series and a new device, the Xiaomi Leica Leitzphone.

The Leitzphone is the international version of the China-exclusive Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, with adjustments for global markets. The device comes in a single black finish with a fully black rear panel.

It features a 6.9-inch LTPO "HyperRGB" OLED display with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The screen supports Dolby Vision and reaches up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness.

The phone runs on 4.6GHz 3nm Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 octa-core processor with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The device houses a 6,000mAh battery, which differs from the 6,800mAh cell found in the Chinese variant. It supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The main sensor is a 1-inch type 50MP unit, joined by a 200MP telephoto lens with a variable focal range between 75mm and 100mm, and a 50MP ultrawide camera.

Additionally, there's also a physical rotating LEICA Camera Ring around the module allows users to adjust zoom and exposure manually. Meanwhile, the LEICA Essential mode aims to recreate the look of classic Leica cameras.

The Leitzphone also features a 50MP front-facing camera.

The Leitzphone is compatible with Xiaomi's Photography Kit Pro, which adds a 2,000mAh battery and a camera-style grip with physical controls.

The phone carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and includes an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

Audio features include Dolby Atmos tuning, stereo speakers, and Hi-Res Audio support for both wired and wireless listening

Connectivity options include standard support for wireless networks and data transmission.

The device operates on Xiaomi's HyperOS 3.
