Nothing outs Headphone (a): 40mm drivers, LDAC, and stylish design

Apart from the Nothing Phone (4a) series, the brand also launched the Headphone (a).

This new headphone is a lower version compared to last year's Headphone (1) while incorporating updated features focused on battery performance and user customization.

The audio device is offered in four color options: Yellow, Pink, Black, and White. They weigh 310 grams and use memory foam in the ear cushions, a choice aimed at improving comfort during extended wear. An IP52 rating provides protection against dust and light water exposure.

Inside, the Headphone (a) is built around 40mm drivers with a titanium-coated diaphragm. Nothing states that this material increases driver rigidity, which is intended to reduce distortion and support audio clarity.

The headphones are compatible with High Resolution Audio Wireless and the LDAC codec. Through the Nothing X app, users can access an eight-band equalizer for more granular sound adjustments.

Active noise cancellation on the device includes three preset levels—low, medium, and highallowing users to control the degree of ambient sound filtering. A transparency mode is also available for situations requiring environmental awareness. For calls, a three-microphone AI-powered system is designed to separate the user's voice from background noise.

Physical controls are integrated into the ear cups, using a Roller, Paddle, and Button similar to those introduced on the Headphone (1). A new function called Channel Hop lets users switch between apps or functions via the button without handling their phone. The same button can also be used as a remote camera shutter.

Battery life is rated at up to five days of continuous playback on a full charge, according to Nothing. A five-minute charge is said to provide approximately five hours of use.
