Spacious Clamshell fold?

HUAWEI has confirmed that the Pura X Max wide foldable phone will officially launch on April 20, releasing the first official images of the device and putting months of speculation to rest.

The Pura X Max features a notably wider form factor compared to its predecessor, with changes spanning from the cover screen to the rear camera system. The device's proportions draw comparisons to a compact tablet in its unfolded state.

On the rear, the upper portion is dominated by a dedicated camera module, a departure from the slim camera bar seen on the previous generation. The camera section is framed by a thick plate bearing XMAGE branding, while the remaining lower portion of the back panel is divided into two sections distinguished by a grid-like pattern of vertical and horizontal lines.

The hinge area carries the HUAWEI branding, and the revised design suggests the company may have made structural improvements to the clamshell mechanism's durability.

This time, its cover screen is notably larger than that of its predecessor, a design direction that sets a higher bar for competing clamshell devices.

Both the external and internal displays feature a single punch-hole camera cutout, though positioned differently on each panel.

HUAWEI has also confirmed three color options for the Pura X Max: Blue, Orange, and White.
Further specifications and features of the device are expected to be revealed closer to or at the April 20 launch event.

The pre-order details in China were also revealed for customers interested.
