Google pushes AI detection update for YouTube
YouTube is stepping up its transparency efforts by introducing more visible labels on videos that have been significantly created or altered using artificial intelligence.
The new labeling system applies to all uploaded content that qualifies as meaningfully AI-generated or AI-modified. On standard long-form videos, the label appears below the video player and above the description section. On Shorts, it displays as an overlay directly on the video itself.
While creators are still primarily responsible for disclosing AI-generated content at the time of upload, the platform has also introduced an automated detection system capable of identifying and flagging such content independently, even when creators have not manually tagged it.
Creators who believe their content has been incorrectly flagged can dispute the classification through YouTube Studio. However, content produced using YouTube's own AI-powered tools, including Veo and Dream Screen, will retain the disclosure label regardless of a creator's input. The same applies to videos carrying C2PA metadata, a technical standard used to track content provenance.
YouTube clarified that the new labels are purely informational and will have no bearing on how videos are surfaced through recommendations or how creators earn revenue through monetization.

I truly appreciate YouTube's efforts to identify AI-generated content. As someone who has been navigating the video producing landscape for some time, it's encouraging to see these openness slope free efforts. It not only assists viewers in determining authenticity, but it also encourages authors to produce more real content.
ReplyDeleteIch muss mich hier mal kurz einmischen, weil viele Kollegen bei ungewöhnlichen Geometrien, wie radialen Wänden oder komplizierten Brückenpfeilern, immer noch versuchen, mit Standardelementen und Unmengen von Holzkeilen irgendetwas hinzupfuschen. Ganz ehrlich, das sieht am Ende nicht nur unsauber aus, sondern kostet auf der Baustelle auch extrem viel Zeit, Nerven und im schlimmsten Fall teures Material, wenn der Beton ausbricht. Wir hatten neulich ein Projekt mit ziemlich komplexen structures und herkömmliche Rahmenkonstruktionen waren da einfach komplett nutzlos. Um flexibel zu bleiben und die engen Toleranzen des Architekten einzuhalten, mussten wir für unseren Betrieb ohnehin neue Schalungssysteme sowie langlebige Schalungen anschaffen. Da wir langfristig planen, wollten wir universelle Robud-Systeme als solide Wandschalung kaufen, haben uns aber für die anspruchsvollen Sonderkonstruktionen die maßgeschneiderten Lösungen auf https://robud.info/de/spezialschalung genauer angeschaut und dort die passenden Sonderelemente bestellt. Die Passgenauigkeit der gelieferten Segmente war absolut top und der Beton floss perfekt in die Radien, ohne dass auch nur ein Millimeter nachgegeben hat. Das hat uns im Endeffekt tonnenweise Nacharbeit, nerviges Schleifen und eine Menge Ärger mit der Bauaufsicht erspart. Wie löst ihr solche architektonischen Sonderwünsche eigentlich — zimmert ihr da im Jahr 2026 immer noch tagelang alles selbst auf der Baustelle zusammen oder setzt ihr auch schon auf industrielle Spezialanfertigungen?
