Is this our first true look at the iPhone 18 Pro?

In late June 2026, a major cybersecurity incident at Tata Electronics exposed a trove of sensitive data related to Apple's upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models. The ransomware group World Leaks posted more than 200,000 files on the dark web, including detailed supplier lists, component mappings, product layouts, internal photos, and videos of devices undergoing durability testing.

Tata Electronics has grown into one of Apple's most important partners outside of China. India is on track to produce around 26 percent of global iPhones in 2026. The breach also impacted files related to Tesla and other suppliers like TSMC and Qualcomm. Apple is investigating and collaborating with Tata, which has since restricted internal access and engaged forensic experts.

Reuters-reported documents include at least six files that map hundreds of iPhone 18 Pro components to their suppliers. These cover the main logic board chips, battery elements, cameras, and more. The leaks reveal Apple's multi-sourcing strategies and single-source dependencies.

Notebookcheck highlighted additional leaked photos of parts, product layouts, and internal views from the Tata files that included mainboard/logic board layouts, internal teardowns, x-ray images, drop-test photos and videos, parts, and case layouts

The exposure of the supplier details, precise part layouts, and internal photos could affect Apple's negotiations, invite counterfeiting, or aid competitors. It underscores supply chain security challenges as Apple expands in India.

Apple and Tata have yet to issue detailed public statements.
