Infinix GT 50 Pro Unboxing, First Look - Stellar cooling and more?

TECNO
Infinix
The upcoming Infinix GT 50 Pro might be one of the most intriguing "gaming-focused" mid-rangers yet.
Meet Infinix GT 50 Pro

Why? Infinix claims that this phone blends Esports-level hardware with mid‑range pricing, introducing innovations like HydroFlow liquid cooling, 144 FPS gaming certification, and pressure‑sensitive GT triggers—features not that common in this category.

This phone will go official in the country on June 10, 2026, at 8 PM, at TikTok Shop with exclusive launch discounts worth 2,000 pesos.

Is it as good as advertised? Here's our first look.

The main box of the phone contains the magnetic clear case, the phone itself with a pre-installed screen protector, the Type-A to Type-C cable, and a 45W power brick.

Those interested may also pair this with the PHP 2.5K Infinix GT Watch 5 Pro, the company's first "Esports smartwatch" bringing GNSS positioning, 5ATM water resistance, and ecosystem integration with real‑time wrist notifications, health tracking, and other game‑centric utilities.

Build Quality/Design

The handset arrived with a more streamlined look than the GT 30 Pro last yearIt still has a glass-like finish at the back with a carbon fiber-like finish underneath, while the camera island is slim and small, containing two sensors and the LED flash.
HydroFlow Liquid Cooling
HydroFlow Liquid Cooling

The highlight of the device is the HydroFlow Liquid Cooling, which is visible below.

Infinix explains that the active dual‑pump solution circulates coolant through laser‑engraved channels to keep the CPU and battery cool. It is built into the main heat sink to help minimize thermal buildup, prevent throttling, and stabilize 144 FPS gaming.

One of the neater designs found on gaming-focused smartphones

In total, Infinix said that it has a 7,700mm² Vapor Chamber, a 25,000mm² graphite sheet for ultimate cooling. This should allow the phone to maintain its performance even during peak gaming.
Hooray for haptics

The frame is made with a smoothly finished polycarbonate material with no sharp edges. Infinix kept it slim at 8.2mm despite having a significantly larger 6,500mAh battery than the 5,500mAh of its predecessor.

Super-slim bezels, immersive viewing experience

In front, the handset features a large Corning Gorilla Glass 7i-protected 6.78-inch screen with super slim and symmetrical bezels for an immersive viewing experience. This is a high-quality AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, 330Hz touch sampling rate, 2800Hz instant touch sampling rate, 2304Hz PWM dimming, 1.5K 2644 x 1208 resolution at 434 ppi.

The display has a top-center punch hole like most modern phones. The fingerprint reader is hidden underneath the lower portion of the screen.
Pressure-Sense GT Triggers

All ports and buttons are easy to reach. The addition of Pressure-Sense GT Triggers might help serious mobile gamers further elevate their game. It is a tactile, mechanical shoulder triggers on the right side of the device that enhance precision in mobile games and act as a customizable physical shortcut.

Plus, for a phone with a 6.78-inch screen, this is slim and lightweight at 162.4 x 77.2 mm and 198 grams.

This has IP64 dust and water resistance, which means the device is completely dust-tight and has moderate protection against liquids (splash-proof). However, this is several steps below the industry standard of at least IP69 found on competing brands at similar price points or lower.

Cooling is the priority

I am still conducting our usual tests, but initially, it is easy to understand why this phone has a lot going on to keep it cool under heavy tasks or gaming.

There is no heating or whatever in most of the daily tasks, from social media, CapCut video editing, running AI prompts, and even from recording 4K videos for 10 minutes, even without air conditioning.

Other phones in the past stopped recording at 4K once they got too hot.

I've been testing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for a few games now, and there's no noticeable issue.

On other, more demanding games, I expect it to heat up more after hours of use, especially during clashes.

Users can switch between Smart, Normal, and Rapid flow modes depending on how heavy the task they are doing. The cool thing is you can see the liquid flow at the back of the phone going faster or slower depending on the mode you choose.

If there is an unexpected heat, users may slap the optional GT Magcharge Cooler 2.0 for extra cooling and wireless bypass charging for uninterrupted gaming.

This tech is undeniably cool and very promising. As mentioned, we will do more tests to see how well this works.
