HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max now official - Kirin 9030S + monstrous 200MP 4x tele + 5G, soon in PH

Tech giant HUAWEI today unveiled the Pura 90s Series in Malaysia, including its top-of-the-line 2026 camera flagship, the Pura 90s Pro Max.

As expected from a HUAWEI camera phone flagship, the Pura 90s Pro Max is packed with some of the most amazing mobile imaging innovations today.

The main highlight of the phone is the new HUGE 200MP 1/1.28" RYYB telephoto sensor with up to 4x optical zoom and telephoto macro. This matches the sensor size of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, one of the largest 200MP telephoto sensors in the industry, while besting its 3x optical zoom.

HUAWEI paired this with the new 50MP f/1.4 to f/4.0 1/1.28" LOFIC RYYB sensor with OIS and a 40MP F/2.2 RYYB ultra-wide-angle camera.

The company said that it also has the 2nd Gen True-to-Colour Camera and dual-tone LED flash.

For selfies, it uses a 13MP f/2.0 sensor.

HUAWEI claims that this phone can record up to 20x HEX telephoto (six-sided honeycomb-like bokeh) even for videos, with 200% clarity from the previous generation.

If you noticed, HUAWEI dropped the 1-inch sensor of the Pura 80 Ultra last year.

Both back and front cameras of the phone can record up to 4K at 60fps. For its back cameras, the Chinese tech giant claims that it has CIPA 7.0 stabilization, the highest in the industry.

Gradient is back, 5G is supported

The HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max brings back its iconic gradient design first found on the HUAWEI P20 in 2018. HUAWEI refined it this year to come up with the "Rhythm of color" Blaze Purple and Orange Ocean. The Orange Ocean even has the industry-first Dual‑Tone Gradient Mid‑Frame.

It is also available in classic Blush Gold and Graphite Black.

The display

In front, the phone has the 6.9-inch Kunlun Glass-protected OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2.8K 2880 x 1308 resolution, and an anti-reflective coating.

Powered by the Kirin 9030S, the Pura 90s delivers up to 25% better performance than its predecessor—apps open 21% faster, content loads 31% quicker, and task switching is 43% more efficient. Gamers also get a 30% boost in frame rate stability for titles like Honor of Kings.

This chip also has a new NPU that further enhances imaging, with 200% stronger scene understanding and a 43% uplift in AI‑driven color processing.

The device also supports 5G connectivity globally, the first time since the HUAWEI P40 Pro in 2020.

Other specs of the phone include 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, and a large 6,000mAh battery with Type-C 100W fast charging support and 80W wireless charging.

The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, WiFi 7, and runs on EMUI 16.0 OS w/ Celia AI Agent and other new image AI retouch features such as AI De-glare and more.
