Nothing Ear (3a) priced in PH: Audio Snapshot, LDAC, and 45dB ANC, PHP 5,990 SRP

Alongside the Phone (4b), Nothing unveiled its latest budget-friendly earbuds, the Ear (3a).

The new model keeps the same price point as its predecessor but adds several meaningful upgrades, including onboard storage, a new "Audio Snapshot" feature, built-in call recording, and stronger noise cancellation.

The standout addition is Audio Snapshot, which lets users capture short clips of whatever they're currently listening to, straight from the earbuds themselves. 

The feature relies on 32MB of onboard flash storage and can be triggered with a simple pinch gesture. 

Captured clips sync to the Nothing X app, where they can be played back, edited, shared, or transcribed. The earbuds also support recording calls and meetings for up to two hours at a time, and Nothing has built in an audible alert to notify everyone on the call when a recording begins.

On the audio side, the Ear (3a) uses 12mm dynamic drivers, supports Hi-Res Audio Wireless and LDAC, and includes an 8-band equalizer for fine-tuning sound. 

Nothing says it's updated 45dB Active Noise Cancellation now covers a broader frequency range, offering roughly 17 percent better performance than the previous generation.

Other specs include Bluetooth 6.0, dual-device connectivity, IP54 dust and splash resistance, and an extra-small ear tip option to improve fit and comfort.

Battery life is rated at up to 10 hours per charge, extending to 42 hours total with the charging case when ANC is switched off. With noise cancellation turned on, that figure drops to around 25 hours. 

A five-minute quick charge is said to add about an hour of listening time, and the case includes a three-stage LED indicator to show the remaining battery.
