To recap, the tablet features a 12.1-inch LCD (IPS) Matte screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2800 x 1280 resolution, a 2.5GHz 4nm Dimensity 7300 Ultra octa-core chip, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, and a 10,050mAh battery.
Unboxing/Accessories
 |
| The box |
The tablet's box came with plain white packaging with a silver engraving of the OPPO brand and the Pad 5's name.
 |
| Inside the box |
Inside, you'll see the tablet itself, USB-A to USB-C cable, paperwork, and SIM injector tool. Unfortunately, there's no charger included, nor a protective case, so you'll have to purchase them separately.
 |
| OPPO Pad 5 rear |
Upon getting hold of the OPPO Pad 5, we immediately noticed its ceramic-like feeling on the rear cover.
It also uses a metal frame on all sides, indicating a solid build quality, while the materials used feel sturdy enough that they should allow the tablet to withstand everyday wear and tear.
 |
| The tablet's design |
In terms of design, we got the Aurora Pink, but it is also available in the Starlight Black colorway.
Our unit's appearance strikes a combination of elegant aura while maintaining a clean and balanced look.
Premium in design and build!
Honestly, even our camera cannot do justice to the micro details of the rear tablet. But if you are holding it up close, you'll see fine, starry, glittery effects all over. There's also a faint glow when you twist the device at different angles.
These intricate details suggest OPPO really takes its design approach seriously to provide users with that premium feel, just like what it does with the Reno series and A series.
 |
| The top and bottom views |
Up top, you'll find two speakers, a SIM card slot, and a power button. Below you'll find another two speakers to complete the quad setup, USB-C port, and microphone hole.
 |
| Right and left side |
On the right side, you'll see the volume rockers, while the left side is just clean metal.
 |
| The display |
On the display end, it uses a large 12.1-inch LCD (IPS) screen with 2800 x 1920 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 900 nits peak brightness, 540Hz touch sampling rate, 12-bit color depth, and 100 percent sRGB color gamut.
 |
| The display |
We immediately noticed the image quality of its screen, the rich and accurate colors, all while not being too overpowering to look at.
In fact, it looks pleasing to the eye, and we definitely know we can stare at it for longer watching sessions.
 |
| Matte panel |
Why? Because of its matte coating on the panel. OPPO mentioned that it can cut glare by 97% and harmful blue light by 70%.
This also means that users will worry less about eye strain when they are watching or working on their tablet.
Furthermore, it is certified with TUV Rheinland as reflection-free and supports Intelligent Eye Care 4.0, ensuring there will be reduced fatigue on the eyes when using it for an extended period.
AND yes, we think that this technology works.
Meanwhile, OPPO also boasts flagship-grade low-latency stylus support with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity with the OPPO Pencil 2R. This should go along well with the paper-like matte finish of the Pad 5's screen, although unfortunately, we do not have a sample unit of its stylus.
 |
| The AI features |
In terms of productivity, it has AI-Powered Reading and writing support, Circle to Note, AI Recording summary, writer, and eraser to assist users in their daily workload.
Since it is powered by Gemini, you don't really need that expensive AI subscription to boost your efficiency with OPPO's inclusions.
Interestingly, the tablet has a handwriting Formula Calculation, which OPPO said can write out your equations and let AI instantly solve them. This can be beneficial for students in their studies or answering homework fast, as long as it is used with caution.
We still prefer that you learn traditionally and apply AI as a tool only when needed. Still, we can see that it may boost your efficiency, let you focus on studying other subjects to avoid cramming on deadlines.
Furthermore, there's AI Translate, which is useful for watching foreign tutorials, and the AI Painter for creativity activities.
Meanwhile, it has a 10,050mAh battery and supports a 33W fast charger. Based on the official website, it can last up to 15 hours of music playback or 6 hours of heavy games.
However, we still have to test it further if the claims are true.

Our thoughts
 |
| O120PPO Pad 5 Matte Display |
At a PHP 26,999 starting price, the OPPO Pad 5 looks to be an interesting mid-range productivity tablet.
The matte anti-glare display is the standout so far, bringing that sharp, color-accurate, and genuinely easy on the eyes for long sessions.
Build quality feels premium with that ceramic-like back and metal frame, while it also boasts decent RAM and storage out of the box.
The Gemini-powered AI tools (Circle to Note, formula solving, recording summaries) add real value without needing a paid subscription, which may also aid young pros or students in their daily activities.
However, battery life and performance are the big question marks left, and for that, we will provide them once we finish our full review.
We will get back to you soon.
What do you guys think?
