Casio launches F-B100W-1A in the UK: 1980s digital watch design, Bluetooth, step tracking, budget price tag

Casio just turned a retro digital watch into a smart fitness wearable, the F-B100W-1. Now, it is starting to rollout outsite of Japan.

Apart from its iconic 1980s aesthetics, the watch measures 41.9 x 38.1 x 8.8 mm and weighs only 26 grams. The watch, available in Black color, is also said to have an eco-conscious build that uses bio-based resin for both the case and band.

The watch has a resin glass digital LCD screen that displays time and more. There is also a green LED backlight with a selectable duration to ensure readability in low light.

What's new? The watch now connects to smartphones via Bluetooth for auto time updates, easy settings, and even a phone finder feature.

When not linked to a phone, Casio claims that the watch maintains accuracy within ±15 seconds per month.

The watch also has a world time function covering around 300 cities, and a dual-time display ensures convenience across regions for travelers.

Moreover, the Casio F-B100W-1 arrived with a built-in step tracker, just like a modern smartwatch. This records hourly activity, sets customizable goals from 1,000 to 50,000 steps, and provides reminders when movement is low. 

Casio added a 1/100-second stopwatch with memory for up to 200 lap/split records, a countdown timer up to 60 minutes, and five daily alarms with an hourly time signal.

The iconic Japanese watchmaker claims that its CR2016 battery has a life of about two years.
