Globe's fast action; repairs will be finished soon
The local telco giant said that the company has rerouted traffic through backup systems and other international links to keep services running for both corporate and individual customers since last night.
Moreover, repairs on the subsea fiber are expected to finish in the next few days.
The break reduced available international bandwidth, slowing speeds and increasing lag when browsing or accessing certain overseas services.
Globe's core IT systems remain normal and fully operational. A separate issue that briefly affected app logins on Android phones has already been resolved.
Our teams are working continuously to ease congestion and restore normal internet service as quickly as possible. In parallel, we are working with our partners to validate the cause of the disruption, said Joel Agustin, SVP Head of Network Planning and Engineering at Globe.
