Is 240Hz overkill?

Based on Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu, the tablet will likely support an AI stylus, which would suggest the device is aimed at productivity and multitasking as well as gaming.

Previous reports had linked AI stylus support to the Magic 9 series smartphones, but HONOR launched those flagships without it.

This time, though, leaks suggest that the tablet may be a more natural fit for a stylus than the Magic 9 series was. Features like the ultra-low-latency input, predictive stroke algorithms, and programmable shortcut buttons could help with precision in strategy games and other titles.

Additionally, the stylus could also be useful beyond gaming, since tilt and pressure sensitivity would allow for digital illustration, document annotation, and easier menu navigation.

As for the primary spotlight, the leak also claims the WIN tablet will be the first large-screen device with a 240Hz OLED display. Compared with 120Hz panels, higher refresh rates provide smoother motion, lower input lag, and reduced motion blur.

The tablet may also include active cooling, as the WIN phones do. Possible approaches include a cooling fan, a cold plate, or a micro-pump, any of which could help sustain chip performance during extended gaming sessions.

Furthermore, the device is rumored to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Other specifications have not been disclosed at the moment.

Even if the leak proves accurate, it is unclear how many apps will support a 240Hz refresh rate, and only a small number of games run beyond 165Hz.

What do you guys think?
