Xiaomi enters the Vision Gran Turismo Project

At the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 Round 3 in Singapore, Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi and Jean-Arthur Madelaine, Head of Design at Xiaomi Europe R&D and Design Center, announced that the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo (Xiaomi Vision GT) concept car will join Gran Turismo 7 (GT7) this month.

The announcement also introduced Gran Turismo's first dedicated EV Driving Experience, featuring driving challenges and training centered around the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and the Xiaomi Vision GT.

During the event, Yamauchi and Madelaine discussed the car's virtual development and the evolving dynamics of high-performance electric driving.

Established in 2013, the Vision Gran Turismo initiative invites automakers to design original concept vehicles exclusively for the game franchise. Over the past decade, the project has produced 50 concept models.

Xiaomi is the 36th brand—and the first technology company—to join the program. Designed under the leadership of Xiaomi Auto Chief Designer Li Tianyuan, the Xiaomi Vision GT was first unveiled physically at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, followed by a showcase at Auto China 2026 in Beijing.

Its arrival in Gran Turismo 7 marks the transition of the concept into an interactive virtual driving experience.

Aerodynamic design and cockpit features

Xiaomi says the vehicle's design adheres to an aerodynamic philosophy termed "Sculpted by the Wind". Rather than utilizing surface add-ons, the body is structured around a suspended teardrop-shaped cabin with airfoil cross-section elements.

Building on features implemented in production models like the Xiaomi SU7 and YU7, the Xiaomi Vision GT integrates airflow guides into its cross-shaped headlights and incorporates its halo taillight into the rear air channel. Combined with an active wake-control system, the concept achieves a drag coefficient ($C_d$) of 0.29 and an aerodynamic efficiency value of 4.1.

Inside, the car features the "Sofa Racer" cockpit concept, designed around an enclosed driving space. The system is integrated with the Xiaomi Hyper XiaoAi AI Voice Assistant and the Xiaomi MiMo foundation model, connecting the vehicle with Xiaomi's broader "Human × Car x Home" ecosystem.

Dedicated EV driving experience

Alongside the vehicle launch, Gran Turismo 7 is introducing its first dedicated EV Driving Experience.

The feature allows players to test the acceleration, braking, and handling characteristics of performance electric vehicles, including the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and Xiaomi Vision GT—across tracks such as the Nürburgring, Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans), and Suzuka Circuit.
