Xiaomi 18 Pro Series with Leica cameras confirmed to arrive in the Philippines this November

Xiaomi has launched a global teaser campaign for the Xiaomi 18 Pro series, confirming that the international release is scheduled for later this month.

International buyers can expect similar core performance and Leica-tuned optics as the models available in China. However, retail listings on European platforms, such as the Italian retailer Epto, show significant adjustments to meet local certifications and export standards.

In China, the Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 7,000mAh battery, while the 18 Pro Max boasts an 8,500mAh battery, both supporting 100W wired fast charging. In contrast, the EU variants are shown to have a 6,000mAh battery and a 7,050mAh battery, respectively. Both models will also support 100W wired fast charging in addition to 50W wireless fast charging and are rated for at least 1,000 charging cycles before dropping to 80% capacity.

The series is protected by robust Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 on the front and boasts elite IP66, IP68, and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings. A standout feature on the chassis is the interactive secondary rear AMOLED display, positioned next to the camera module. This display measures 2.7 inches on the Pro and 2.9 inches on the Pro Max, allowing for live preview selfies and quick access to widgets, alongside a dedicated physical AI Key on the side frame.

The standard Xiaomi 18 Pro features a comfortable 6.4-inch LTPO AMOLED display, while the Pro Max showcases an immersive 6.9-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED panel. Both displays support peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits, adaptive refresh rates ranging from 1 to 120Hz, and come equipped with full Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, all backed by a built-in hardware-level anti-peeping privacy screen.

Both handsets also include a hardware-level anti-peeping privacy screen. This feature can be toggled in software or via the side-mounted physical AI Key, limiting side viewing angles on demand to keep sensitive information hidden from onlookers in public spaces.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max

A significant design element across the Xiaomi 18 Pro series is the interactive secondary rear AMOLED screen integrated into the upper camera housing. The standard Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 2.7-inch panel with a resolution of 596 x 976, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max steps up to a slightly larger 2.9-inch panel. Both rear displays feature LTPO AMOLED technology, supporting a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits for easy visibility outdoors in direct sunlight.

Functionally, the rear screen serves as a real-time, low-latency viewfinder that allows users to capture high-resolution selfies, wide group shots, and 4K videos using the main 200MP Leica camera setup, rather than relying on the front sensor. Powered by HyperOS 4, the panel supports over 100 native application cards, status widgets, notifications, music controls, and dynamic clocks without needing to wake the main front display. Combined with Super Xiao Ai and on-device AI, users can also project dynamic wallpapers, AI-rendered character avatars, or context-aware glance cards onto the back of the phone.

Under the hood, performance is powered by cutting-edge 2nm silicon. The Xiaomi 18 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the Pro Max features the higher-clocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. On the software side, both devices operate on Xiaomi HyperOS 4, which is based on Android 17.

Photography remains a key strength of these devices, thanks to the partnership with Leica. Both models feature a triple-camera system: a 200MP Light Hunter 960L main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.2x optical zoom and macro capabilities, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 102° field of view. They also include a 50MP front-facing camera.
