Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max launched: Dual 200MP cameras, up to 6.9-inch privacy display, up to 8,500mAh battery

Xiaomi finally unveils its flagship series for the year 2026 in the form of the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max.

Mightier successors?

As mentioned above, the lineup consists of the Xiaomi 18 Pro and the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Both devices retain a signature element from earlier models: a secondary display found at the rear camera module. 

This time, though, the phones also have notably thin 0.99mm bezels and are protected by the company's Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0.

The Iced Peach Pink color

Both devices are also available in Black, White, Galaxy Blue, and Iced Peach Pink colorways.

Screen sizes differ between the two models, with the 18 Pro sporting a 6.4-inch panel and the 18 Pro Max offering a larger 6.9-inch display, both running at a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution.

The panels are sourced from TCL CSOT's M11 LTPO line and include built-in privacy protection at the hardware level, alongside a maximum brightness rating of 4,000 nits.

The Special Edition color

Among the highlights of the two are the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 for the Pro model and the 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 for the Pro Max edition.

These are also paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage options.

For battery, these reach up to 8,500mAh for the 18 Pro and 8,000mAh for the 18 Pro Max—both capable of 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. 

Meanwhile, Xiaomi also confirmed there will be Global variants as well. But their battery capacities will be different. They will ship with smaller cells of 7,000mAh and 7,050mAh respectively, and charging tops out at 90W wired while wireless charging remains at 50W.

In the camera department, they are similar as well. Both use a 200MP main shooter with OIS, paired with a 50MP ultra-wide snapper and a 200MP 3.2x telephoto camera.

For selfies, they also offer the same 50MP front camera.

Of course, these carry the iconic LEICA lenses to improve color accuracy and dramatic filters aimed at LEICA enthusiasts.

Elsewhere, the series breaks from convention with its audio setup, packing in three speakers rather than the standard two found on most smartphones.
