It'll allow digital files to be converted into analog which can provide cleaner and more realistic audio response to our ears. LG said that it'll deliver a crisp and clear sound that comes closest to a live performance.
LG stated that ESS Sabre made Quad DAC will produce 50% less ambient noise against normal HiFi DACs found with other smartphones.
"As smartphones mature, we’re seeing more and more customers looking beyond just fast processors and big displays in their devices. Higher quality audio is simply the natural evolution of the smartphone, as the industry moves toward a more holistic multimedia consumption experience. We’re pleased to continue this long-term partnership with ESS and bring best in class audio to LG V20 users"-Juno Cho, president, LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company
Having said that, aside from the great rumored specs of LG V20 and its new Android 7.0 Nougat OS, it appears that this handset is also poised to be the best sounding smartphone in the world this 2016.
Let's just hope that they'll tune that powerful audio chip properly for the audiophiles out there.
