Apple Announces Watch Series 3 With LTE

Aside from the new iPhones, Apple Inc. has also made the company's next generation wearable device official, the new and improved Apple Watch Series 3.

The Apple Watch Series 3 has major updates coming from the Series 2. It now has built-in cellular features that lets you do calls and SMS independently. Speaking of which, this is also the first smartwatch from Apple that's connectivity independent of the phone.

You can now store music locally, it has W2 wireless chip, WiFi, Bluetooth, LTE, and built-in GPS for accurate workout distance reading.

It also has a dual core chip, barometric altimeter, and water resistance.

Apple promises 18 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Moreover, it has a completely redesigned workout app and new features designed for swimmers. It also has enhancements to the heart rate app with new measurements for resting and recovery. It'll also intelligently notify you when your heart rate is elevated or you don't appear to be active.

Apple has also introduced the Apple Heart Study which aims to drive healthier experiences and better biometrics.

The new Apple Watch will arrive with watchOS 4 with new watch faces, health tracking functions, Siri, Apple music, and more.

The Apple Watch Series 3 without cellular is priced at USD 329 while the cellular version will retail for USD 399.

In addition, Apple has also claimed that the Apple Watch enjoyed 50 percent year-over-year growth and is now the number one watch in the world.

Pre-orders begin on Sept. 15 with Sept. 22 availability.
