Apple Launches iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, And iPhone X!

Apple Inc., the 3rd biggest smartphone maker in the world has just made the new iPhones official. It includes: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X!

Coming from the iPhone 7 series, the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus has a familiar ID except for the return of the glass back. It features a 7000 series aluminum w/ 7 layer color processor, "most durable glass ever on a smartphone", and water and dust resistance.

The iPhone 8 comes with a 4.7 inch 1334 x 758 resolution screen while the iPhone 8 Plus has a 5.5 inch 1920 x 1080 resolution screen w/ true tone display tech for enhanced color accuracy and cinema grade color gamut. 

Inside, the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are powered with Apple A11 Bionic chip w/ hexa core processor. Two cores are 25% faster than A10 and the two other cores are 70% faster than A10. It's paired with an Apple-designed GPU for better gaming w/ machine learning. It will be paired with either 64 or 256 GB of storage.

However, there's no mention of the exact amount of RAM and battery capacity yet. But, the new iPhones will go w/ Qi wireless charging technology.

Portrait Lighting

For the cameras, the iPhone 8 will go with a 12 MP camera w/ OIS w/ better colors and lower noise. On the other hand, the iPhone 8 Plus will go with a 12 MP f/1.8 wide and f/2.8 telephoto w/ OIS.

The iPhone 8 Plus still has the portrait mode for more natural bokeh shots and has the new portrait lighting feature that lets you adjust the lighting on your subject and even edit it after taking the photo.

Both has 4K 60 fps recording, 1080 HD 240 fps slow motion mode, and AR (augmented reality) w/ new gyroscope and accelerometer for motion tracking.

Apple also boasts that the new iPhone 8 has an enhanced stereo speakers which is 25% louder than the iPhone 7 w/ deeper bass.

The new iPhones also has WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, LTE, and 3D touch.

It'll come silver, space gray, and new gold colors and will be available for pre-order starting September 15 and on sale this September 22.

The 64 GB iPhone 8 starts at USD 699 (around PHP 35K) while the 64 GB iPhone 8 Plus starts at USD 799 (around PHP 40K).

The star of the show? The iPhone X! It's the 10th anniversary edition of the iPhone with a totally new design. It highlights a surgical grade metal w/ water and dust resistance, 5.8 inch Super Retina screen w/ 2436 x 1125 resolution at 458 ppi, and the new A11 Bionic neural engine chip.

Face ID w/ TrueDepth camera system

The iPhone X is also the first iPhone to sport the Face ID w/ TrueDepth camera system. It has a flood illuminator, infrared camera, 7 MP front camera w/ portrait mode, dot projector, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, speaker and microphone. It can be used to track your face even if you are wearing a head gear and even in lowlight.

Apple also boasts that the iPhone X has 2 hours better battery life than iPhone 7 and will come with Qi wireless charging like the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

On the camera part, it has an upgraded dual camera setup compared with iPhone 8 Plus. It still has a 12 MP f/1.8 wide sensor, but it is now paired with a brighter f/2.4 telephoto lens. Both sensors also has OIS for stabilization and now has quad LED true tone flash.

It also has LTE advanced and animojis. However, there's no fingerprint scanner.

AirPower

In addition, Apple will release the AirPower wireless charging pad that can charge your iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8, and Apple Watch Series 3 at the same time.

The 64 GB iPhone X is priced from USD 999 (around PHP 50K). Pre-order starts on October 27 and will be available in stores on November 3.
