Gionee A1 Lite: First Camera Samples

Aside from its big 4,000mAh battery, the other area Gionee A1 Lite could still shine are its interesting set of back and front cameras.

Speaking of its cameras, the Gionee A1 Lite highlights a 13MP primary shooter with f/2.0, PDAF, and dual tone LED flash. For selfies, it goes with a big 20MP secondary snapper w/ f/2.0 aperture size and LED flash.

Gionee also boasts a capable set of camera features with robust pro mode. It's pro mode is capable of adjusting EV, ISO, WB, S, and focus.

In particular, we like that we can adjust the EV to -3, ISO as low as 100, and shutter speed as high as 12 seconds for long exposure shots.

So far, the 13MP main camera of the Gionee A1 Lite is a decent shooter with nice white balance and decent colors. It could just be a bit grainy and underexposed at times if you are not using the pro mode.

On the other hand, the 20MP selfie camera is a beast. It's one of the better selfie phones at this price point. We also like that it has an auto softlight flash mode that just works.

However, it isn't a standout. The stills we got from the A1 Lite is decent and can compete, but we expected it to be a bit better.
