With the addition of Android Pay and Apple Pay on the Singapore Air App, customers can now pay for air tickets, redemption, booking related fees, seat selection, travel insurance and more all inside the app.

The convenience and security of adding these two payment methods is unparalleled. For one, payment details such as credit card or debit card numbers, billing address and name will not be filled out anymore. This is because these details are already filled out by both Android and Apple Pay.

With Android Pay, all these details are already attached to your Android Pay account. For Apple Pay, a designated Device Account Number is assigned with all the information excrypted and stored securely in the device's Secure Element.

Singapore Airlines' Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Campbell Wilson, stated this about these new additions:

Cashless payment is a growing trend not just in Singapore but in many parts of the world. At Singapore Airlines, we are constantly exploring how we can improve the customer experience across our digital touch points. Having cutting edge mobile payment platforms such as Android Pay and Apple Pay provides our customers a seamless and more efficient payment option whenever they make a purchase on our mobile app.

This is a step in the right direction for a more convenient way of paying for air tickets.
