ASUS ZenFone 5 vs Nokia 7 Plus - Point and Shoot Photography Comparison
The ASUS ZenFone 5 (PHP 19,995) and the Nokia 7 Plus (PHP 21,990) are two of bang per buckest mid-range phones you'll find in the country today. As expected, both phones also has some of the most capable camera specs on paper for the price yet.

It also boasts the 8MP f/2.0 OV8856 selfie shooter w/ 83-degree wide-angle lens, AF, and screen flash.
On the other hand, the Nokia 7 Plus are equipped with 3 ZEISS cameras. It goes with a 12MP f/1.75 + 13MP f/2.6 ZEISS optics at the back paired with PDAF focus, 2x optical zoom, and dual tone LED flash.
For selfies, it has a promising 16MP f/2.0 ZEISS selfie shooter with AF and screen flash.

On paper, both looks good. However, it appears that the Nokia 7 Plus in terms of combined megapixel size. But as we all know, actual performance matters.

In this scene, the ZenFone 5 showed that it can handle against the light shots nicely. However, Nokia 7 Plus flexed its muscle in this photo. It simply has more details, brighter exposure, and better dynamic range. Just look at the clouds. Nokia 7 Plus - 1 point
Scene 2 - Against the light zoom
The ZenFone 5 has a decent digital zoom. But, it can't handle against the light shots nicely even on HDR mode. On the other hand, the 2x optical zoom of the Nokia 7 Plus did an amazing job in this situation. Again, it has better details, exposure, contrast, and dynamic range. Nokia 7 Plus - 2 points
Scene 3 - Indoor
Again, the Nokia 7 Plus has the better exposure and punchier colors. But this time, we'll for the better details and dynamic range of the ZenFone 5. Look at the baby corn part. It has the more natural looking color as well. ZenFone 5 - 1 point

This time, ZenFone 5's focus and colors on the subject (macaroons) failed. Nokia 7 Plus got the sharper details, proper exposure, and better colors. The bokeh is also better. Nokia 7 Plus - 3 points

Both are amazing in lowlight! I like more natural looking colors of the Nokia 7 Plus. But, ASUS handled this situation better. Exposure and dynamic range is a bit better on the ZenFone as well. ZenFone 5 - 2 points

Tough call, the ZenFone 5 got the image with brighter exposure, but it has more grain. On the other hand, the Nokia 7 Plus has the sharper image, but the exposure is slightly dimmer and dynamic range is lesser. A tie for us. ASUS ZenFone 5 - 3 points / Nokia 7 Plus - 5 points

I personally like the exposure and saturation of ZenFone 5's selfie cam din daylight. But, the level of crispiness from the 16MP ZEISS selfie camera of the Nokia 7 Plus is one of the best in the game today. Background blur is also deeper. Nokia 7 Plus - 6 points

On this scene, the ZenFone 5 got the brither exposure again. But, it is softer in comparison compared with the Nokia 7 Plus. Background details are blown out photo on the ZenFone 5 as well. Nokia 7 Plus - 7 points

Sadly, ZenFone 5's selfie in this scene is too saturated and orangy. It is also softer in detail overall. The Nokia 7 Plus got the exposure and colors correctly as well. Nokia 7 Plus - 8 points

ZenFone 5's selfie in lowlight is overexposed. It is also lesser in overall quality. On the other hand, the Nokia 7 Plus did everything better. It is sharper and exposure is just right. Nokia 7 Plus - 9 points

However in this particular comparison, Nokia and ZEISS flexed their point and shoot photography muscle better. Most of the shots we took using the Nokia 7 Plus are better than the ZenFone 5.
