Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition flagship phones now official!

Xiaomi just announced the Mi 8! It's the latest flagship handset of the company equipped with notched screen, top-of-the-line specs, powerful cameras, and several cool new innovations on a phone.

First, the Xiaomi Mi 8 features a metal and glass premium design and a 6.21-inch FHD+ 2248 x 1080 AMOLED screen with 18.7:9 screen aspect ratio and 88.5 screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, it is packed with an AI capable Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor by Qualcomm with Adreno 630 GPU. It even managed to score 301K at AnTuTu benchmark.

It is coupled with up to 8GB RAM, up to 256GB of non-expandable storage, and 3,300mAh battery with fast charging via USB Type-C.

On the camera part, it goes with a dual 12MP f/2.0 main camera with AI Portrait and AI Beauty. It got a whopping score of 99 points at DxOMark to tie the camera performance of the Galaxy S9+ by Samsung.

For selfies, it has a 20MP f/2.0 front camera with AI.

It also has the infrared face unlock on the notch part which works securely even in lowlight conditions.

It also has a fingerprint scanner, WiFi, 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-frequency GPS. The new GPS of this device helps in giving accurate navigation always.

Xiaomi also announced the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. Basically, it is like the regular Mi 8. But, it has an In-Display fingerprint scanner and a geeky clear back design.

It boots with Android Oreo with MIUI 10 skin out of the box.

The price of Mi 8 starts at CNY 2,699 for the 6GB RAM/64GB ROM version, CNY 2,999 for the 6GB RAM/128GB ROM variant, and CNY 3,299 for the 6GB RAM + 256GB ROM edition.

The Explorer Edition with 8GB RAM/128GB ROM  is priced at CNY 3,699.
