It's the latest flagship smartphone of the company with improved design, top notch specs, and artificial intelligence.

The version of the LG G7 ThinQ that we will get is the one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

It is priced at PHP 42,990 which will directly compete with other flagship phones like the Samsung Galaxy S9 series, Huawei P20 Pro, and Sony Xperia XZ2.

Could this be the LG flagship that we've been waiting for?

Meet LG G7 ThinQ

Metal and glass design
Metal and glass design

Like other flagship phones, LG joined the metal and glass design bandwagon. But unlike other high-end devices, LG is the only one with MIL-STD 810G rating and IP68 water and dust resistance. It makes the G7 ThinQ one of the toughest looking stylish smartphone in the market yet.

It also has no sharp edges, good ergonomics, and proper button placements. Unlike the LG G6, the power button is not placed at the fingerprint scanner behind anymore. It is now found at the right side of the phone, just like other smartphones.

Modern design!

LG also added a special Google Assistant button. Unfortunately, it is not programmable for now. But, LG promised that they will push an update in the future to make that key programmable.

Another thing, the LG G7 ThinQ still has the VERY IMPORTANT 3.5 mm headphone jack!

Overall, our only concern with its build and design is it doesn't feel as premium in real life (despite its toughness on paper) versus other high-end smartphones in the  market right now.

It is also a bit prone to fingerprint smudges.

On the front, the it has a 6.1-inch Super Bright IPS 2.5D curved FullVision display. It also has  3120 x 1440 resolution at 563 pixels per inch and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

It also has a 19:5:9 screen aspect ratio so there's a notch. Fortunately, like the Huawei P20 series, users may also hide the notch if they want.

According to LG, this new screen has up to 1,000 nits of brightness for up to 3 minutes when needed.

Beastly processor!

Under the hood, this device is a BEAST! It goes with the heavy usage Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz. It also has the Snapdragon 630 GPU for gaming.

However, unlike other flagship phones, the G7 ThinQ only has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Yes it is decent in size, but it is small compared to the standard 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM of other similarly priced devices.

This phone also has 3,000mAh of battery Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and wireless charging support. It is quite small for the big screen size. Let's hope that LG optimized the battery performance of this handset to make it last for a day on a single charge.
Dual cameras!
Dual cameras!

On the camera part, it has a dual 16MP camera setup. It goes with a bright 16MP f/1.6 71-degree primary sensor paired with another 16MP f/1.9 107-degree wide-angle lens. LG also paired it with PDAF, laser AF, OIS, and LED flash at the back. It is very promising so far!

LG also claimed that it has an AI CAM which has 19 shooting modes and the Super Bright Camera that uses pixel binning and AI.

According to LG it can make photos up to 4x brigher and automatically adjust the camera settings when shooting in lowlight.

For selfies, you'll find a single 8MP f/1.9 80-degree wide-angle lens.

The rest of the features

LG improved the multimedia features of this device. It now has a Boom Box stereo speaker setup with DTS-X and 7.1 surround sound. According to LG, the body this phone also serves as resonance chamber to amplify the audio coming out of the speakers.

They claimed that it has deeper bass and better audio quality than most smartphones found in the market today.

It also has an improved 32-bit ESS HiFi quad DAC setup and dual microphones with Super Far Field Voice Recognition that can pick up voice from up to 5 meters away.

Lastly, the phone boots with Android 8.0 Oreo w/ LG UX out of the box. It will also be updated to Android P once its available.

The like what we mentioned earlier, it has deep Google Assistant integration and more AI functions.
