Smart rolls out LTE in Puerto Princesa

Residents and tourists of Puerto Princesa can now enjoy high speed mobile data as Smart rolls out LTE connectivity in the province of Palawan.

This year, Smart plans to increase their LTE sites in Palawan. They will start with at the capital in Puerto Princesa. Initial speed tests in areas including the Puerto Princesa airport and Honda Bay showed LTE download speeds of between 12 to 60 Mbps.

This can help Smart subscribers enjoy browsing social media apps, do video calls and watch videos. They can also enjoy 1 hour of YouTube access for free every day until July 15 when they register to these plans.

It include: GigaSurf 99, AllOutSurf 99, GigaSurf 50, AllOutSurf 30, PanaloData 30, Panalo Combo 30, Super Combo 20, and Big Time Data 70.

This offer is also available to Smart and Sun postpaid customers while Sun Fixed Load Plans users have to register to select load buckets to enjoy daily treat.

Just in time for the Baragatan Festivals, users who do not have LTE-ready sims can exchange their old SIM cards for free on Smart sales booths during the festivities starting on June 15th.

Smart Prepaid and Smart Postpaid customers can check if their SIM is LTE-ready by texting SIMCHECK to 5832 for free.

Smart, TNT and Sun customers can also easily upgrade to an LTE SIM without changing their existing number through an LTE-Ready Self-Service Upgrade SIM, which is available for P10 at Smart loading partners nationwide, with free 1GB data valid for three days upon upgrading.

Along with Puerto Princesa, Smart also deployed LTE in high traffic areas such as Batanes, Sagada and Sarangani where they deployed LTE-A.
