Hikvision CCTV cameras with deep learning!

World leader in innovative security products and solutions, Hikvision has been on a 40 country 'AI Tour' that spans all continents.

During their stop in the Philippines, the Hangzhou, China based company showcased innovations in AI cloud architecture, AI technology, AI products and other AI solutions.

Hikvision is integrating deep learning into its analytic algorithms that result in multi-layer learning and extensive data collection with enhanced accuracy and improved analytics. This also applies to vehicle and human recognition.

The company then showcased products that take advantage of this AI innovations like the following:

There are several types of cameras that Hikvision will bring to the Philippines. The first is the EXIR Flexible PanoVu Network camera with 1/2.7-inch scan CMOS sensors and four lenses that support 1080p at 30fps. It compresses the footage into H.265+ that saves bandwidth and storage. The camera is capable of 6 behavior analysis as well as 4 exception detections.

The second camera is the PanoVu PT series 2MP and 2MP Target Capture Camera. It captures close-up and distant images with tracking. It is mainly used for monitoring a wide range in high definition like entry and exit points in public places.

The third camera is the 2MP 25x IR Network Speed Dome which adopts the patented dual-sensor design that processes brightness and color independently and outputs full-color images. It is equipped with the deep-learning-based target classification algorithms for automatic tracking and perimeter protection.

The fourth camera is the LPR Camera that is powered by Hikvision's deep learning AI algorithm that can identify 6 types of Philippine license plate numbers that include public and private vehicles with up to 90 percent accuracy that will only get better because of the company's dedication to optimizing the LPR algorithm that is expected to reach 95 percent accuracy by 2019.

The last product is the facial recognition server that is powered by the aforementioned deep learning technology that incorporates the algorithms for identity identification and confirmation. It supports up to 1 million blacklisted targets that is compatible with third-party cameras that meet various scenario requirements like shopping malls and public squares.

As AI becomes more common and more powerful, deep learning will soon become the foundational technology for the security industry. AI will strengthen critical security efforts in every sphere, with new machine learning techniques giving CCTV cameras the ability to spot troubling behavior without human supervision, said Ray Wu, General Manager of Hikvision. Deep learning is the next level of AI development.

What do you guys think? Could these AI deep learning CCTV be the answer to a lot of the problems in our country in terms of security and services?

Personally, this has the potential to improve our traffic and security surveillance in the public space.
